Titans and Discovery Perlas remain as the last two Filipino teams standing at Manila Hustle 3×3 Season 2 on Sunday at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.
The three-woman Titans side continued their gallant stand, shaking off Shiv Nadar School, 20-18, in overtime to book their spot in the Final Four.
Supavadee Kunchuan drove to the basket in the final 10 seconds to tie the game at 18, but failed to complete the bonus as the game went to overtime.
She atoned for that miss, scoring on a crucial layup before Jhazmin Joson vaulted her side to the semis with a tough lay-in.
Discovery Perlas also nipped Uratex Dream, 19-14, as the top seeds advance to the semifinals of this tourney presented by Uratex and Smart.
Grace Irebu and Hazelle Yam did just enough to hold off the Dream in their all-Filipino quarterfinal matchup.
But the two crews face stiff competition in the semis of this meet which has the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas as official technical partner, Seiko Prospex as official timekeeper, and B’lue as official hydration partner.
Tokyo Dime, behind the efforts of Rika Takakuwa, took down Shoot It Dragons of Thailand, 18-15; while Zoos Tokyo subdued Bluefire LPG, 19-12, thanks to the blazing hands of Yuuna Onodera.
Those pairings set up Philippines vs Japan duels with Titans facing Tokyo Dime and Discovery Perlas colliding against Zoos Tokyo in this meet which has the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipi nas as official technical partner, Seiko Prospex as official timekeeper, and B’lue as official hydration partner.
Only the victors of those can have a shot at the $3,000 cash prize for the champion, while the runner-up will take home $2,000. The third placer will get $1,000.
