Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. has expressed concerns over the loss of some case folders of policemen in the National Capital Region Police office (NCRPO) who are facing charges.
According to Acorda, it’s possible that it’s not just the NCRPO that has a missing case folder, so he’s asking the regional directors to investigate it thoroughly.
“That’s alarming. I’m encouraging all other regions to review and check on their systems and records if there are similar incidents,” said Acorda.
General Acorda further warned that personnel who hide and neglect the case files of the police who have criminal and administrative charges will be held accountable.
“If there is evidence that somehow states that there is negligence on the part of these record holders, those who are supposed to keep the records definitely there will be sanctions that can be imposed on them,” he said.
It will be remembered that last Friday, NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez discovered that there were some missing police case folders in the NCRPO with a pending case while he allegedly forged his signature.
