“There’s not much pressure on our part being Viva Films’ opening salvo this year. We are more excited for the audience to see the product of our hard work,” Molina told Manila Standard Entertainment in an interview.

Set in a world overrun by zombies, Marquez takes on the role of Pong, one of the few surviving men on the planet, yearning for connection. He believes his beloved Yasmine, played by Molina, has perished. However, Pong’s world takes a dramatic turn when he, along with his brother, discovers Yasmine’s body. Despite showing signs of being a zombie, she hasn’t fully transformed, and Pong is determined to save her.

Against his brother’s objections, Pong brings Yasmine home, caring for her as he strives to help her regain her humanity by restoring her memory. Unveiling a twist from their past, it’s revealed that Yasmine, once the beautiful love of Pong’s life, had ghosted him due to her inability to reciprocate his love.

As Yasmine recovers her memory and humanity, the question arises: Will she find it in her heart to reciprocate Pong’s love this time around?

Directed by Bobby Bonifacio, Jr., My Zombabe boasts a star-studded cast including Yanyan de Jesus, Billy Villeta, Liz Alindogan, Andrea del Rosario, Andrew Muhlach, Garry Lim, Marnie Lapus, Isadora, Nico Locco, Jao Mapa, and Suzette Ranillo.

My Zombabe unspools in cinemas nationwide on Jan. 10.
