Malapitan orders Caloocan police, BFP, CDRRMO to regulate firecracker sale and use

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan released City Executive Order 065-23 which directs the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Caloocan, and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to closely monitor the sale and use of banned firecrackers and pyrotechnics in the city.

The said Executive Order strengthens the implementation in Caloocan of Republic Act 7183, which provides the national regulations on the firecrackers industry, as well as the penalties of fine and possible imprisonment for violators.

Under the said EO, the CCPS is instructed to confiscate banned items such as Atomic Bomb, Super Lolo, and Trianggulo and apprehend the users and sellers if necessary, while BFP – Caloocan and the CDRRMO were tasked to immediately respond to any untoward incident during the New Year celebrations.

Mayor Along again reiterated his call to avoid using prohibited firecrackers and use other safer and environmental-friendly alternatives.

During the New Year celebrations, Caloocan residents are encouraged to contact the city government’s Alert and Monitoring Hotline 02-888-ALONG (25664) / 09167976365 / 09477964372 to report any emergency incident.
