THE Manila City government has started the distribution of the monthly cash aid for solo parents in the city, Mayor Honey Lacuna announced on Tuesday.
In a statement, Lacuna said the payout of the financial assistance will run until the second week of January next year.
Some 17,000 solo parents in the city are bound to receive P3,000 each, representing the P500 monthly cash aid for the period July to December this year.
Lacuna advised the beneficiaries to check the social media account of the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) for the payout schedules.
She added that those who may have questions or needed clarification regarding their data may go directly to their assigned MDSW District Welfare Offices:
These offices are located at the Vitas Aquatic Center for District 1, TESDA Building Tayuman for District 2, Alvarez St. beside Rasac Court for District 3, behind the Manila Police Precinct 4 in Balic-Balic, Sampaloc for District 4, the Bahay Kalinga Building in Paco for District 5 and 6, and the Baseco Office near Barangay Hall for the Baseco residents.
These offices would also entertain questions or concerns of persons with disability (PWDs) who are also recipients of the monthly ayuda being given by the city government.
The MDSW has designated help desks in each area where the payouts will be done to directly address concerns or questions from the recipients or residents.
Regarding PWD concerns, Lacuna said residents may go directly to the PWD Affairs Office (PDAO) located at Room 111, Ground Floor, Manila City Hall or they may call 5336-5436 or 5310-3267.
Under the city’s social amelioration program, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, solo parents, Grade 12 students and students of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Universidad de Manila will receive monthly cash aids.
