Martin joins MP Promotions, shoots for world title in 2024

A new breed of warrior from the mountain province in the Philippines has joined the growing family of Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions, Premier Boxing Champions and TGB Promotions.

Undefeated Carl Jammes Martin has formally signed up with the MP (Manny Pacquiao) Promotions to finally take his boxing talent to a higher level as he takes on the best fighters in the super bantamweight division in his bid to become a future world champion.

“Welcome to the MP Promotions,” Pacquiao told the 24-year-old Ifugao fighter, who will be fighting on Monday, Thai Chaiwat Butkrathok for the vacant World Boxing Organization global super bantamweight belt at the Elorde Sports Complex in Parañaque City.

Pacquiao, the former senator and eight-division world champion, is happy to include Martin on his elite list of MP Promotions’ fighters, such as unified world super bantamweight champion Marlon Tapales, Jerwin Ancajas, Eumir Felix Marcial and Mark Magsayo, among others.

“We are happy and proud to announce the signing of Carl Jammes Martin to the MP Promotions,” Pacquiao added.

Martin expressed his gratitude for becoming a part of the MP Promotions in his young boxing career. He also was excited being a part as well of the best two international boxing promotions in the world — the PBC under the leadership of its founder Al Harmon and the TGB Promotions.

“In joining Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions and TGB Promotions and MP Promotions, I’m honored to be stablemates with the best fighters in the world like my fellow Marlon Tapales, Mark Magsayo, Jerwin Ancajas, Vincent Astrolobio and Reymart Gaballo, among other filipino fighters,” said Martin.

The PBC, he said, is the best brand at giving the Filipino fighters the best opportunities worldwide. He is also expected to fight with Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo “Alvarez and Issac “Pitbull” Cruz and a great number of current world boxing champions.

“This newest chapter in my career will truly boost my aim of becoming a future world champion,” Martin added.

Known for his undefeated record of 22 wins, highlighted by 17 knockouts, Martin has what it takes to follow in the footsteps of many Filipino world champions under the guidance of his father trainer Abel Martin.

“Carl Jammes Martin has everything to offer from his good looks up to his extraordinary boxing skills. We believe he will go far,” international matchmaker and MP Promotions president Sean Gibbons said.

Gibbons added that they would bring Martin to the United States by early next year to intensify his training and provide him with greater opportunity to fight the best in his division or get a potential world title shot in 2024.

“He is going to be the next big thing in professional boxing. He is a world champion material,” Gibbons added.
