Tuguegarao City has again proven its remarkable competitiveness, bagging eight prestigious awards during the recent Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Awards held last Dec. 7, 2023, at the Isabela Convention Center in Cauayan City.
Representing Mayor Maila Rosario Ting-Que, City Administrator Juanito Calubaquib received the city’s recognition, which included 5th Overall Most Competitive City in the Philippines, 1st Most Competitive Government Efficiency, 26th in Economic Dynamism, 10th Most Competitive in Infrastructure, 6th Most Competitive in Resiliency, 5th Most Competitive in Innovation, 26th Most Improved City, and Most Competitive LGU in Region 2.
These awards are a testament to the city’s commitment to providing its residents with a high quality of life and a vibrant business environment. The CMCI ranking is based on a comprehensive assessment of cities and municipalities across five key pillars: economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation.
The ceremony was part of the Cagayan Valley Creative and Competitive Cities and Municipalities Summit And Philippine Quality Awards Conferment Ceremony, highlighting the region’s most distinguished local government units.
Joining City Administrator Calubaquib in receiving the awards were Executive Assistant III Donne Angelo Oñate and City Investment and Promotion Center (CIPC) OIC Jennifer Santos.
This recent achievement reinforces Tuguegarao City’s position as one of the most competitive and dynamic Philippine cities. It is a significant accomplishment that reflects the city’s dedication to progress and commitment to serving its people effectively.
