THE Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) on Friday said it expects an estimated 2.6 million passengers during the upcoming Christmas rush.
From Dec. 15 to Jan. 3, 2024, the PITX is projected to serve as a bustling hub, connecting travellers to various destinations while ensuring a safe and efficient journey.
“As the holiday season approaches, PITX has prepared extensively to cater to the surge in passenger influx. The terminal has implemented several measures to ensure the comfort, convenience, and safety of all travellers,” Jason Salvador PITX Corporate Affairs and Government Relations head said.
“We are committed to providing an efficient and enjoyable travel experience for all passengers throughout the Christmas rush. By working in harmony with transportation operators, government authorities, and the general public, PITX aims to create a seamless and memorable journey during this festive season,” he added
The PITX has collaborated closely with transportation operators to provide increased availability of buses, shuttles, and other public transportation options during this peak period. This proactive approach aims to minimize passenger waiting times and ensure smooth travel experiences.
In partnership with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), all Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) will undergo roadworthiness inspection to better prepare the vehicles for the long-haul travel and to ensure the safety of passengers. In accordance with the security guidelines, PITX strictly enforces precautionary measures to protect the well-being of all passengers.
These measures include Philippine National Police (PNP) augmentation at the terminal for better security presence, with additional K9 units for luggage inspection.
The PITX urged passengers to plan their trips in advance and allocate sufficient time for check-in and boarding processes. To ensure a hassle-free journey, the passengers are advised to arrive at the terminal ahead of their scheduled trips to avoid delays.
In light of the anticipated passenger volume, PITX encouraged the use of other alternative forms of transportation, such as going to the terminal or online booking platforms through their preferred bus
operator to conveniently secure tickets and avoid long queues.
