Romualdez emphasizes the 2024 budget is geared towards combating inflation, assisting the impoverished, and strengthening essential social services.

The majority of the budget allocations, per Romualdez, are in line with the “legacy” and priorities of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“At the heart of the 2024 budget is the goal to improve food, jobs, health, education, and housing for the Filipino people,” states Romualdez.

He notes the removal of Confidential and Intelligence Funds, recognized as potential sources of corruption, demonstrates a commitment to scrutiny and good governance.

President Marcos envisions three Legacy Projects: Legacy Food Security, Legacy Specialty Hospitals, and Legacy Housing for the underprivileged.

The 2024 budget is also earmarked to support farmers with provisions like free seeds, fertilizers, and other tools. Investment in irrigation infrastructure is expected to contribute to increased food production.

Romualdez announces the commencement of the construction of specialty hospitals, with an allocation of P1 billion each for renowned institutions, including PGH, National Kidney Center, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, National Cancer Center, Bicol Regional Medical Center, and specialty hospitals in Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna.

The budget ensures continued provision of free medical treatment, quality hospital services, and medication for our fellow citizens in need.

Romualdez’s objectives and aspirations for the budget align with the broader vision of uplifting the lives of Filipinos across various sectors.

The approved budget brings forth numerous benefits for the Filipino people, encompassing improved healthcare, agricultural support, and infrastructure development.

Investments in irrigation and specialty hospitals are expected to enhance food production and healthcare accessibility.

With a focus on legacy projects, President Marcos, Jr.’s vision emphasizes long-term gains, particularly in food security, healthcare, and housing for the less fortunate.

The removal of funds prone to corruption signifies a commitment to transparency and ethical governance.

The right implementation of this budget promises Filipinos a tangible improvement in their daily lives.

From increased food security to better healthcare facilities, the budget aims to address crucial aspects of the citizens’ well-being.

It aligns with the nation’s aspirations for progress and prosperity.

To ensure the successful implementation of this ambitious budget, it is crucial to prioritize transparency and accountability in the allocation and utilization of funds.

Regular and thorough audits should be conducted to prevent corruption and mismanagement.

Moreover, public awareness campaigns can be initiated to inform Filipinos about the specific benefits and programs included in the budget.

This transparency will foster public trust and engagement, creating a sense of ownership and accountability among citizens.

Lastly, collaboration between government agencies, local communities, and non-governmental organizations will play a pivotal role in ensuring the intended objectives of the budget are met.

By fostering a collaborative approach, the government can leverage diverse expertise and resources to maximize the positive impact of the budget on Filipino lives.
