The Bonifacio Monument Circle (BMC) in Caloocan City was closed to vehicular traffic starting at 11 p.m. Wednesday in connection with the 160th birth anniversary of national hero Gat Andres Bonifacio today, Nov. 30.
In its advisory, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said it will implement road closures along Samson Road, both sides from Lapu-lapu Street to BMC; McArthur Highway, both sides from Calle Cuatro to BMC; Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), both bounds from Gen. Simon to BMC; and Rizal Avenue Extension, in both directions from10th Avenue to BMC.
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes, the MMDA said.
Vehicles from McArthur Highway going to Manila may turn right at Reparo Road, left at University Avenue, right to Caimito Road, then turn left at Heroes del 96 towards 10th Ave. to their destination.
Those coming from Rizal Avenue to EDSA may right-turn at 10th Ave., then left turn at B. Serrano to destination.
Motorists from Rizal Avenue going to MacArthur Highway may turn left at 10th Ave., right at Heroes del 96, then turn left at Caimito Road to their destination.
Those going to Sangandaan may turn left at 10th Ave., then turn right at A. Mabini to destination.
Meanwhile, the alternate route for vehicles along EDSA going to MacArthur Highway: From EDSA, make a right turn at Gen. Simon, then a left turn at either Calle Uno or Calle Cuatro to the destination.
All motorists at MacArthur going to EDSA: From McArthur, turn right to Reparo, left turn at University Avenue, right turn at Caimito towards Heroes Del 96, then turn left at 10th Ave., then turn left at B. Serrano to destination.
All trucks coming from EDSA northbound going to McArthur Highway will be prohibited from 7 am to 9 am. Instead, they are advised to take the North Luzon Expressway towards their destination.
MMDA traffic enforcers will be deployed in the affected area to conduct traffic direction and parking control.
