Two party-list lawmakers are pushing the passage of the proposed Philippine Salt Industry Development Act which is now in final stages in the legislative mill.
Congressmen Wilbert T. Lee of AGRI Party-list and Ron Salo of Kabayan expressed hopes that the measure will soon be approved by Congress, and readied for the President’s signature.

Lee and Salo were principal authors of the measure and both part of the House contingent to the bicameral conference committee hearing on the measure.
“With proper monitoring and implementation, this law will empower the industry so it can generate jobs and make the country salt self-sufficient,” Lee stressed.
