Sta. Rosa opens renovated public market

THE revitalized wet section of the Santa Rosa City Public Market was inaugurated last  October 23, graced by The Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas.

The wet section, boasting a total of 140 stalls, has been  allocated for existing stallholders listed on the master list. However, new vendors and aspiring entrepreneurs may apply for stalls provided they meet the specified qualifications.

This inclusivity will give  new life to the marketplace, creating fresh opportunities for both long-standing vendors and those looking to develop their business.

Located at the rear of the market, the revamped wet section not only symbolizes a significant stride forward for Santa Rosa but also represents the city’s commitment to rejuvenating its public market.

The renovation of this section is part of a broader initiative aimed at stimulating economic growth and enhancing the city’s public spaces.

A pivotal component of the Santa Rosa City Public Market’s transformation is the Santa Rosa Commercial Center (SRCC), which was inaugurated on September 22, 2023. Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas and Vice Mayor Arnold B. Arcillas presided over the event, highlighting the city’s dedication to preserving its cultural heritage.

The SRCC, adorned with the iconic heritage arch that has graced Santa Rosa for generations, now hosts a total of 173 stalls catering to a myriad of needs. Shoppers can explore a diverse array of products, from stylish footwear to delectable culinary delights. This inauguration symbolizes the city’s unwavering commitment to embracing the future while paying homage to its rich cultural legacy.

While the wet section and the SRCC are now beacons of modernity, the renovation project is far from complete. The transformation of the dry goods and fruit and vegetable sections will continue until 2024, creating an even more inviting and contemporary shopping experience for residents and visitors alike.

The opening of the public market adheres to the Santa Rosa City Market Code, which is derived from the Santa Rosa City Revenue Code. This underscores the commitment to fairness, transparency, and integrity, which are at the heart of the city’s mission to serve its community.

As the City of Santa Rosa advances into an exciting future, the newly renovated public market stands as a symbol of progress and a testament to how tradition and innovation can seamlessly coexist. It is a place where vendors, shoppers, and v isitors converge to celebrate the spirit of community and commerce, forging a brighter path for this vibrant city.
