Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan personally led the groundbreaking ceremony for the new campus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) at the Rainbow Village, Deparo on Friday, October 20.
Mayor Along expressed his excitement over the new PUP-Caloocan Campus as it is one of his pet projects back when he was still a congressman and reiterated that the said project represents his administration’s commitment in improving the quality of education in the city.
“It is our duty to see to it that everyone will have an easy access to education which is a basic right of every citizen. We believe that PUP-Caloocan will be one of our best instruments to fulfill this responsibility,” he added.
Mayor Along likewise highlighted the positive effects that the new campus will bring to various aspects of city development.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key city officials including District 1 Representative Cong. Oscar “Oca” Malapitan, as well as current PUP President Dr. Manuel Muhi.
