The National University Bulldogs drew big baskets from Kean Baclaan and Nash Enriquez to put away the Adamson Falcons, 69-66, for their fourth consecutive triumph in the 86th University Athletic Association of the Philippines men’s basketball tournament on Saturday at the UST Quadricentennial gym.
Baclaan led a rally from 11 points down in the first half, 30-41, shooting 15 of his game-high 19 points to put the Bulldogs in front, 55-54, at the end of the third and helped NU move up to second spot at 6-1.
The Falcons fell to a 3-5 slate.
“Alam namin hindi porke’t nandu’n sila sa anumang position nila ay mahina na ang Adamson. I know coach Nash Racela, and this is a competitive team,” said Bulldogs’ coach Jeff Napa as he commended the fight that Adamson displayed.
Later, Raven Cortez banged in 18 points for the La Salle Green Archers, who waylaid the University of the East Warriors, 83-73, to hike their slate to 4-3, and improve in third spot.
