Portion of Espana Blvd. to undergo repair work

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Thursday served notice that a portion of the España Blvd. in Manila would undergo repairs works, hence vehicular traffic in the area would likely be impaired.

The DPWH’s North Manila District Engineering Office (NMDEO) said road concreting/reblocking works at the thoroughfare’s westbound lane from Eloisa to Tolentino Streets had been scheduled from Oct. 13 to 17.

“To ensure minimal impact on traffic in the area, the repairs will follow a strict time period of five days, with mobilization of equipment to start at 11 p.m. (Friday), followed by the breaking and hauling of existing concrete pavement on the following day, then the pouring and curing of concrete pavement,” a DPWH advisory stated.

The DPWH also said there would be a partial road closure covering two lanes during the repair period, as the repair works will start at the first inner westbound lane with nine linear meters and four linear meters from Eloisa Street.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to evade traffic slowdown in the affected area.

The project is part of the DPWH-National Capital Region’s commitment to improve road efficiency and safety for riding public traveling within the region.
