Leading digital solutions platform Globe and bustling food and lifestyle market Mercato Centrale have come together to spotlight the pressing problem of involuntary hunger and inspire communities to make a meaningful impact. This collaboration beckons food aficionados to rally behind the Hapag Movement and cultivate a spirit of giving within the gastronomic community.
In their joint endeavor, Globe and Mercato Centrale have launched the “Longest Hapag” initiative, first on Paseo de Roxas, and recently, via the Food Festival at the Festival Mall Water Garden in Alabang. This festival boasts a plethora of food stalls, showcasing a diverse array of culinary masterpieces, from international dishes to local delicacies.
The Alabang event was attended by Mercato Centrale Co-Founder RJ Ledesma, Globe Senior Director for Content Management and Creative Services Monday Gonzalez, Lifestyle Malls SAVP Corporate Marketing Denisse Lagayan, and Filinvest First VP & Business Retail Head Mitch Dumalao.
Under the partnership, Mercato will provide support for the movement through a P5.00 donation for every beverage sold by its Tastemaker’s beverage business, present in every Mercato food market.
In addition, Globe Business is working on a partnership with Mercato Academy for a food business incubator program that aims to shepherd beneficiaries from conceptualization to fruition, providing them with indispensable support and resources throughout their journey.
“This partnership represents our unwavering dedication to harnessing the transformative power of technology for societal betterment. Our combined efforts are not just about providing immediate relief, but also about fostering sustainable solutions that address the root causes of food insecurity. Together, we are committed to building a brighter, more nourishing future for all,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.
“We are 100 percent committed to supporting the Hapag Movement. It’s quite fitting that as a food business, we rally behind an advocacy that helps address hunger among those who struggle to make ends meet every day,” said Ledesma.
Drawing inspiration from Florence’s Central Market and Asia’s vibrant night food markets, Mercato Centrale has evolved into the go-to outdoor night food market for a diverse crowd of food enthusiasts in the Philippines. This unique setting has become a hub for discovering unparalleled culinary delights in the metropolis.
Owing to its immense popularity, Mercato Centrale has emerged as the primary platform for budding food vendors aspiring to become successful entrepreneurs. The market’s supportive ecosystem has given rise to success stories such as Merry Moo, Tokyo Tempura, Sunrise Buckets, Thai Mango, and many more.
Join the “Longest Hapag” at Mercato Centrale Thursdays to Sundays, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Festival Mall Water Garden, Robinsons Antipolo, Paseo de Roxas, SM Taytay, and the soon-to-open SM Aura branch.
