Zambales cities undergo SGLG National Validation

The local government units (LGUs) of Botolan, Iba, San Antonio, and San Marcelino, Zambales, underwent the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) National Validation from September 26 to 27.

From two national awardees, Zambales now has four SGLG passers vying for the recognition

Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) V Vincent Albert Aaron S. Andaya of DILG Region 6-Province of Guimaras and LGOO III Ruth T. Geronda of DILG Region 6-Province of Negros Occidental led the conduct of the SGLG national validation. The national validators were accompanied by the DILG Zambales team, headed by Provincial Director Martin Porres B. Moral, Cluster Team Leader LGOO VII Melissa D. Nipal, and SGLG Focal Person LGOO II Paulin Johanne L. Reyes.

Part of the national validation is the interview with the Punong Barangays and implementing heads of offices in the municipalities to further assess the processes and protocols being implemented in various SGLG governance areas.

From two national awardees in 2022, Zambales now has four potential SGLG passers.

The results of the national validation will then be presented to the National Quality Committee for vetting before its endorsement to the DILG Secretary for its conferment.
