San Marcelino BSKE candidates join Unity Walk, Peace Covenant Signing

The candidates for the Barangay and SK elections in San Marcelino came together today, September 25, 2023, to join in the unity walk and peace covenant signing.

Leading the events are representatives from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) San Marcelino, PNP San Marcelino, BFP San Marcelino, Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, Municipal Local Governance and Operations Office (MLGOO), Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) and the local the government of San Marcelino under the leadership Mayor Elmer Soria.

Such activity started with a unity walk attended by candidates, officials, and agency staff towards the Municipal Covered Court for a program.

Meanwhile, the prayer was led by Saint William Parish Rev. Father Eric Dela Cruz and Imam Salic Arcraman of the Muslim Community.

MLGOO Sheryln Ann Dungca, Josephine Raguine of DepEd San Marcelino, PMAJ. Marvin Domacena, Capt. Gener Panganiban of the Philippine Army – 69IB, FINSP. Charlie Fantone, MDRRMO Head Arsenio Edar Mauricio III, Catherine Joyce Vitug of BIR Olongapo City, and Jocelyn Udan of PPCRV also gave their messages during the event.

The COMELEC also held a briefing and orientation for the candidates. According to COMELEC Officer Mary Ann Salinas, they must follow the “lawful election propaganda” to avoid disqualification and for a peaceful election. The BIR added that they must also comply with their civic duty regarding their taxes and submission of documents before and after the election.

In the end, there was an Integrity Pledge, and the candidates signed in agreement with their solidarity for a peaceful, fair, and honest election.

Mayor Soria believes and is confident that every candidate will take to heart, keep in mind, and implement any good plan and action that should focus on their barangays.
