Taguig starts TUPAD program for Embo residents

The Department of Labor and Employment and the local government of Taguig have started an orientation and profiling for more than 700 residents from 10 Embo (Enlisted Men’s Barrio) villages on the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program.

This program is aimed at providing emergency employment opportunities for individuals who are underemployed, displaced, or engaged in seasonal work.

The beneficiaries of this program are provided with P610 per day for their work, and the program’s regulations and criteria for successful completion were presented to them.

During the orientation, Mayor Laarni Cayetano encouraged the beneficiaries to perform their duties with integrity.

“We believe that it is good to help people who want to help themselves. I recognize your willingness to work, and your solidarity.
I have been given the responsibility to manage these areas now. Sincerely It is my desire to serve all of you,” she said.

The city chief executive also extended her gratitude to Senator Alan Cayetano for his support during the orientation.

“If not for Senator Cayetano’s kindness and efforts in securing funding, we don’t have this TUPAD program,” she said.

Senator Cayetano, on his part, urged the Embo residents to open their hearts to receive the love offered by the City of Taguig and underscored the unwavering commitment of city officials to serve the community.
