Honda Cars Philippines (HCPI) unveiled the highly anticipated All-New Honda CR-V at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
As part of Honda’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality for all products and corporate activities by 2050, the 6th-generation Honda CR-V marks a significant milestone in the company’s electrification journey. Leading this effort in the Philippines is the groundbreaking CR-V 2.0 RS e:HEV E-CVT, a halo model that represents Honda’s dedication to sustainable mobility and zero environmental impact.
Pioneering e:HEV Full Hybrid Technology
The All-New Honda CR-V is the first in the Philippines to feature the e:HEV full hybrid system. This innovative technology combines Honda’s gasoline engine and electrification technologies with advanced features, resulting in exceptional fuel efficiency and a unique driving experience.
The e:HEV system comprises two electric motors, the Traction Motor and the Generator Motor, paired with a new four-cylinder, 2.0-liter Direct Injection Atkinson Cycle engine. This hybrid powertrain produces 148 PS and 183 Nm of torque from the engine and an impressive 184 PS and 335 Nm of torque from the electric motors. The e:HEV system intelligently switches between three modes: EV Drive Mode for electric-only driving, Hybrid Drive Mode for power distribution between the electric motor and engine, and Engine Drive Mode for high-speed cruising.
The e:HEV system is self-charging, utilizing regenerative braking to harvest energy and maintain the electric power range. This contributes to optimizing fuel economy. The All-New CR-V 2.0 RS e:HEV E-CVT comes with an 8-year or 200,000-kilometer battery warranty, offering peace of mind to customers.
Turbocharged Gas Engine for Added Performance
For the Philippine market, the All-New CR-V introduces a turbocharged gas engine available in the 1.5 V Turbo CVT and 1.5 VX Turbo CVT AWD variants. This 1.5-liter Direct Injection DOHC VTEC engine boasts 190 PS and 240 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful gas-powered CR-V to date. It offers excellent fuel efficiency with ratings of 29.4 KM/L in urban driving for the e:HEV grade and 16.4 KM/L in extra-urban driving for the petrol grade, based on United Nations Regulation 101 standards.
Advanced Safety and Connectivity Features
All variants of the All-New CR-V are equipped with Honda SENSING, the latest driver-assistive technology, featuring a new front sensor camera and radar system with wider fields of view. This enhances detection capabilities for cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
The CR-V also introduces Honda CONNECT, a smart telematics technology that enhances the ownership experience. Honda CONNECT enables users to interact with their vehicle through a smartphone app, providing alerts, security features, and vehicle status updates.
Refining and Redefining a Global Leader
The All-New Honda CR-V is the sixth generation of the company’s leading global model. Known as the Comfortable Runabout Vehicle, it continues a legacy that began in 1995, with over 13 million units sold worldwide. The CR-V seeks to solidify its position as the leader in the C-segment SUV category, offering cross-country capabilities, passenger car comfort and dynamics, MPV utility, and environmentally friendly performance.
