Government workers will enjoy free rides at the MRT-3 and LRT-2 from Sept. 18 to 20 as part of celebrations marking the 123rd anniversary of the Philippine civil service.
In separate advisories, the management of the two rail lines said eligible riders only need to show a valid government ID from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“We at MRT-3 are one in the celebration of the Philippine Civil Service anniversary. This is our simple way of saying thank you to the sacrifices of our civil servants in carrying out their duties,” said Transportation Assistant Secretary for Railways and MRT-3 officer-in-charge Jorjette Aquino.
The MRT-3 line runs from Taft Avenue in Pasay City to North Avenue in Quezon City while the LRT-2 stretches from Recto in Manila to Antipolo in Rizal province.
