Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, directed by Jerrold Tarog
Following the success of Heneral Luna, its sequel film, Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, focuses on the life of one of the youngest generals in the Philippine Revolutionary Army, General Gregorio “Goyo” del Pilar. Starring Paulo Avelino, the 2018 film showed how Goyo proved himself by dedicating his life to leading hundreds of Filipino soldiers in the fight for our freedom.

Helmed by one of our National Artists, Marilou Diaz-Abaya, José Rizalbecame a go-to film for every student in the Philippines who wanted to learn more about our national hero, Jose Rizal—his life, his contributions, his heroism, and his death. The 1998 film classic masterpiece starred Cesar Montano in the title role.
Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo, directed by Enzo Williams
Led by Robin Padilla as Andres Bonifacio, Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo tackles the life of the “Father of the Philippine Revolution” who spearheaded the battle against Spanish oppressors. The 2014 film also starred Daniel Padilla, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Jericho Rosales, and Vina Morales.
El Presidente, directed by Mark Meily
After receiving numerous awards for Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story, E.R. Ejercito made a comeback with El Presidente, an entry in the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival. Ejercito played the role of General Emilio Aguinaldo, who led the Philippine revolution against the Spaniards and Americans.
