Carlo Aquino reveals behind-the-scenes stories with Coleen Garcia

AWARD-winning actor Carlo Aquino reunites with actress Coleen Garcia in an upcoming series, Kung Hindi Lang Tayo Sumuko. The project is their second on-screen pairing after Excess Baggage, but this time, they are given the roles of lovers.

During the series’ press conference, Carlo revealed that he barely knew Coleen and would only see her at events.

“I didn’t expect Coleen to be this kind of jolly, because every time we get to see each other, she’s with Kuys [Billy Crawford] to balls and formal events,” the actor said.

“We would just give our hi and hello with short conversations. But during our shooting, I learned that she had a lot of stories to tell. I learned that we both like going out to the gym and she also knows how to drive a motorcycle,” he added.

On the other hand, Coleen expressed how professional it was to work with Carlo.

“He was very gentlemanly and very professional. Other than that, he’s very accommodating and a great partner. The whole time I was so comfortable working with him and he’s very reliable also as an actor,” shared the actress.

Helmed by Carlo Enciso Catu, Kung Hindi Lang Tayo Sumuko delves into the story of Carlo and Coleen’s respective characters who will teach the audience about love and when to give it a second or even a third chance.

It tells about how Allie (Coleen) and Benedict (Carlo) first met through a whirlwind romance and managed to stay strong and keep their relationship. Years later, Benedict proposes to Allie, and the two look forward to their years of growing old together.

The couple’s relationship is on the rocks just weeks before they face each other at the altar and vow to spend a lifetime together. Things look promising for the couple, but as they prepare for their wedding, their relationship’s buried cracks and flaws start to resurface and make them rethink their decision.

The story continues to unfold when they stumble on close friends facing relationship problems, which brings more confusion to the struggling couple.

Also joining the series’ star-studded cast are Ryza Cenon, Kiko Estrada, Rhen Escaño, and Jerome Ponce.

Produced by Studio Viva, the digital series is based on Marcelo Santos III’s bestselling book. Kung Hindi Lang Tayo Sumuko streams exclusively on Viva One on August 21.
