The Department of Interior and Local Government – National Capital Region (DILG-NCR), through the 2023 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment, recognized the City Government of Caloocan on Monday, July 10 for its outstanding dedication to protecting the interests of children.
In the LCPC Assessment, the Caloocan City Council for the Protection of Children received an overall score of 88.46 percent which was described as an “ideal” rating.
City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan thanked the DILG for the recognition and appreciated the efforts of the City Council for the Protection of Children in helping to push forward the objective of having a safe and child-friendly city.
“We thank the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for granting us this award, and our Caloocan City Council for the Protection of Children for helping create a safe, happy community for our kids,” Mayor Along said.
The local chief executive also pledged to improve key areas identified by the assessment and reiterated his administration’s commitment to keeping the interests of children a top priority.
“Our work does not end with this award. We assure you that we will improve the other aspects of our service to our children,” the Mayor said.
“I personally assure you that the city government will continue to strengthen programs for the education, health, and safety of all Batang Kankaloo,” Mayor Along added.
