Rising band drops new EP featuring own take on APO classic hit

Better Days is undergoing a significant transformation in 2023 while retaining its name. The musical group, which has been active for a few years and has already released several singles under Universal Records, now has a completely revamped lineup.

Nigel Aboy (vocals and guitars), Nim Garcia (keys and back-up vocals), Jian Ballesteros (bass), and Raphael Resurreccion (drums) form the new quartet.

Although the process is somewhat pressuring and overwhelming, the band is enjoying the journey. While technically a new band, the group has decided to keep the name. As part of its return, the band has released a fresh EP consisting of six tracks, which reimagine previous songs from its repertoire.

Better Days is revamping its lineup as the quartet undergoes a significant transformation

The EP features acoustic versions of songs from the Nararamdaman EP (2018), creating a sincere, homely, and intimate atmosphere. Additionally, it includes Better Days’ latest original single “Hilom,” which now has an official music video and a performance on the Wish Bus.

One of the EP’s key tracks is their rendition of the popular song “Paano” by Apo Hiking Society. Through this release, listeners can discover the band’s signature sound.

“Paano” has already gained recognition, currently holding the fourth spot on Spotify’s Pinoy Covers playlist.

To further support their impressive release, the quartet unveiled a music video at the launch of Hilom on May 26 at The 70’s Bistro bar in Quezon City.
