Senator Cynthia A. Villar yesterday said that officials of the BF Resort Village Homeowners Association (BFRV-HOA) have ‘an ax to grind’ against her when they barricaded her composting facility inside the said village.
A video of Villar went viral, wherein she was seen ordering village security guards to remove the barriers in front of her composting facilty where wastes were being transformed into organic fertilizers.
These fertilizers from kitchen and garden wastes were being distributed for free to farmers and urban gardeners. Villar said this has been one of her advocacies as chairperson of the Senate agriculture and food committee.
The lawmaker is reportedly mulling legal action against the person who took a video of her during the “confrontation” in the said subdivision in Las Piñas. She said she believes the person had “bad intent” after the video went viral online.
In a media briefing on Wednesday, Villar also disclosed that association officials have been taking it personal against her since she filed a complaint before a Las Pinas City court over their refusal to honor the “friendship sticker” issued by the local government.
Villar said the court had issued a temporary restraining order against the homeowners association’s decision not to allow those from Las Piñas to pass through the roads inside the BF Resort Village.
Since then, Villar said she’s been encountering problems involving the homeowners association. The latest is the said fencing of the composting facility which she built.
With the friendship sticker, Villar noted that the homeowners lost earnings from the stickers coming from the association.
Before, only vehicles with sticker bought for for P2,500 from HOA will be permitted inside the subdivision.
But the court ruled in favor of Villar’s petition, stressing that an ordinance on friendship sticker, which was passed in 1995, prevails over a subdivision policy.
Villar also said she is now eyeing the filing of additional cases against the homeowners association.
The senator also dismissed accusations that she was ‘homophobic’ when she asked if a security was gay that she can hurt him. The video showing a visibly agitated Villar has been viewed millions of times in various social media platforms.
