By Rey E. Requejo

The Supreme Court has announced that the results of the 2022 Bar examinations will be released on April 14, 2023 after its special full court session for the same date.

In its notice to the 2022 Bar candidates, the Office of the 2022 Bar Chair headed by Associate Justice Benjamin Caguioa said the results will also be posted on the SC’s official website on the same day.

The High Court will also announce the 30 Bar topnotchers unlike in the previous years when only the top 10 Bar passers were being recognized. The Court will also acknowledge the law schools which obtained the five highest Bar passers’ percentages.

“The Bar passers are advised to await the announcement regarding further details on the clearance procedure, as well as the Oath-Taking and Roll-Signing on May 2, 2023,” the SC stressed.

On the other hand, the tribunal said Bar candidates who were conditionally admitted to take the examinations and have passed the same will be allowed to join in the oath-taking provided they have submitted the required documents within the prescribed period.

A total of 9,183 law graduates completed the four-day Bar examinations under a regionalized and digitalized set-up that was held on November 9, 13, 16, and 20.

All 9,183 examinees took the examinations on Remedial Law I and Remedial Law II (with Basic Tax Remedies), Legal Ethics, Political Law and International Law (with related Tax Principles), Labor Law, Criminal Law (and Practical Exercises), Commercial Law, Civil Law I and Civil Law II (and Practical Exercises).

Also online and regionalized, the 2023 Bar examinations will be administered by the Supreme Court only for three days on September 17, 20, and 24, also in various testing centers nationwide, with only six core subjects instead of eight.
