In a recent interview, actor Gerald Anderson admitted that he’s already entertaining the thought of getting married at this point.
“Well, everything that I’m doing right now is geared towards that,” he averred.
“I’m no longer 25 years old who will focus more on my career. Everything that I’m doing for my showbiz career and my venturing into various businesses is leading to that point,” he added.
Asked if the lucky girl is current girlfriend Julia Barretto, the 34-year-old actor answered: “Yes, I’m definite that she is!”
What made him think that Julia is already “The One”?
“I guess you will feel it. If your relationship is working. For one, you will discover that something’s changing in you. You feel that your priorities are changing or your priorities became clearer to you. You know the old saying: ‘You just know.’ You’ll feel extremely different. It’s hard to explain it. But the feeling is different.”
Gerald clarified though that he and Julia are not yet engaged.
Since he admitted his relationship with Julia in March 2021, bashers relentlessly hit them. How does he handle such predicament?
“It may sound cliché but I turn such negative energy into positive and I think it worked for me. I don’t know if there’s a sense in that but I’ve lasted this long in the ‘biz not just because of the fans’ support but also due to people’s criticisms or pessimistic remarks like, ‘He’s not good!’ or ‘He won’t make it!’ It’s kind of weird but I am able to translate those into positivism,” he said.
Sharing a piece of advice with the new crop of showbiz wannabes, Gerald stated that one should not feel afraid and be brave enough to face bashers.
“It’s rampant nowadays. People will bash you in everything that you do so just stay positive all the time,” Gerald ended.

Bela Padilla reveals that she pretended not to feel nervous directing and sharing the screen with acting stalwart Lorna Tolentino in Libro sa Napanood Ko, which is Viva’s official entry to the maiden Summer Metro Manila Film Festival that will run from April 8 to 18. In the potboiler, LT plays the role of Bela’s mother.
“I talk to her on the set before we shoot scenes,” she states. “I just don’t show my nervousness because I want to be professional. But you know what? Ms. LT is so wonderful! She made life easy for me as the director.”
The multihyphenate actress recalls one time when she was talking to the veteran actress before a scene. She thought that the setting-up would take long.
“When the Director of Photography (DOP) announced that it was okay to shoot and let Ms. LT do the scene, I remember asking her if she wanted a moment, if she wanted music to be played. She said ‘No, it is okay!’ When the cameras started to roll, presto! Her tears also started to roll instantly. Unlike the other actors who really prepared for the scene. This only shows how good she is as an actress,” Bela ends.
