Best-dressed stars at Golden Globes 2020

The stars landed on the red carpet of Beverly Hilton Hotel in California for the 77th Golden Globes. This year’s awards season kicked into high gear with dozens of trophies handed over to winners, and best-dressed tags awarded to the most stylish, bold, and unforgettable men and women of the night.

Ana de Armas

Best Actress nominee Ana de Armas brought her A-game to her first Golden Globes attendance. The Knives Out star was looking gorgeous in a Ralph and Russo gown in midnight blue. While the silhouette is rather simple, the color and her matching blue jewels from Tiffany & Co. made for an exquisite look.

Scarlett Johansson

The star of Marriage Story may have appeared in a red Vera Wang ballgown, but she surely didn’t disappear on the red carpet. Scarlett Johansson exuded Old Hollywood glamour in her strapless, plunging neckline number with a dramatic train. Slick-back hair and 120 carats worth of Bulgari jewels were enough to seal the look.

Reese Witherspoon

The Best Actress nominee proved that you can opt for sleek and simple and still land on the best-dressed list. Reese Witherspoon wore a white Roland Mouret one-shoulder column gown with ruffle detailing.

Laura Dern

Somewhat contrary to her character as the high-powered divorce lawyer Nora Fanshaw in Marriage Story, Laura Dern looked like a boho queen in a sheer Saint Laurent maxi gown. The deep V-neck cut of the embroidered number was balanced by its long sleeves.

Taylor Swift

How does one stand out in a sea of monochrome looks? Wear prints! Tay-Tay made sure she stood out from the pack in an Etro navy and yellow silk floral ballgown with a keyhole cutout, open back, and long train. The Cats star’s hair styled up with a few loose strands complement the fresh and summer-y pattern.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Here’s a rule thumb when it comes to black tuxedo: it should be tailor-made; not ill-fitting, not oddly proportioned. Quite simple, really, and the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star nailed it. Leo was looking dapper in  black Giorgio Armani trouser suit and a white shirt.

Helen Mirren

Dame Helen Mirren can do no wrong, schooling those on the red carpet how to do Old Hollywood glamour right. The star of the miniseries Catherine the Great graced the Golden Globes in a deep red Dior dress with off-the-shoulder cut and a skirt—with a tulle underneath—that demands a twirl.

Kerry Washington

Body chain on her bare body definitely was a bold choice, but Kerry Washington was able to “bring it” and keep it elegant with a black Altuzarra blazer, a high-slit skirt, and heels from Magda Butrym.

Billy Porter

Feathers are always in as long as Billy Porter wears them on the red carpet. The Pose star was a sight to behold in a custom white tuxedo jacket with dramatic feather train designed by Alex Vinash. He kept the look pristine with a white button-down shirt, white trousers, and custom Jimmy Choo boots. He finished off the look with a Tiffany & Co. necklace.

Joey King

Best Actress in a Limited Series nominee Joey King made sure her Golden Globes debut was memorable as she wore an Iris Van Herpen creation that looked like a wearable art. With something as eye-catching as this dress, the 20-year-old star only needed Jimmy Choo heels and a few Harry Winston jewels.
