PAGSANJAN, Laguna — Mayor Cesar Areza led the opening ceremony of the Horseback Riding center in Brgy. Poblacion Dos in this town last January 13 and is seen to become another attraction for local and foreign tourists.
The opening included the Barangay Chairman Allan Caballes, local government staff, and associations of horse owners in Pagsanjan.
Mayor Areza invited citizens across Laguna to go to the town “so that they can experience horseback riding.”
As many as 50 horses are available for tourists to ride, he said.
The local government is also putting up an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) riding center apart from the horseback center “so that visitors can enjoy horse and ATV riding more,” the mayor said.
The town’s leadership “is ready for unexpected events with foreign and local tourists,” Areza added.
According to Brgy. Chairman Caballes, it is a big help for the village to have horseback riding as a means of employment.
He added that the forest area at nearby San Isidro Hill will soon be opened to the public. This will also employ the community and provide a large income for the town and barangay, apart from the first horseback riding center in the province of Laguna, Caballes added.
Pagsanjan is touted as the tourist capital of Laguna and hosts the annual Bangkero Festival every March.
