At least 6,000 job order and contract service employees of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have received P5,000 yearend cash bonus as part of the Marcos administration’s program to boost their working morale.
“Contract of service and job order workers are an important component in the success of daily operations of the entire government machinery particularly in DSWD’s delivery of social protection services to disadvantaged populations and hard-to-reach areas,” Alan Tanjusay, Undersecretary to the Department of Social Service and Development (DSWD) and chairperson of DSWD’s Association-Management Consultative Committee (AMCC) said.
“So, this cash incentive is a recognition of their contribution and definitely a boost to the morale of public sector job orders and contract of service workers who daily face the risks and who brave the far-flung and difficult to reach areas to render quality services to Filipinos in crisis and in need,” the official added.
He said that Officer-in-charge Undersecretary Edu Punay has issued an order authorizing the payment of the gratuity pay to the department’s sixteen thousand job order and contract of service employees.
He said government employees are thankful to President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. for granting a maximum of five thousand pesos yearend cash bonus for job orders and contract of services employees working in national government agencies including those in local government units, state universities and water districts nationwide.
The President authorized the provision of cash bonus to contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) workers in government and issued Administrative Order 3 authorizing agencies in the executive branch and local government units to provide a one-time pro-rated gratuity pay to temporary workers who rendered work last year.
Tanjusay said the DSWD management and union have tackled the department’s internal implementing policy and have authorized its finance department to release the bonus.
The order grants a one-time gratuity pay of five thousand pesos to COS and JO who have rendered a total or an aggregate at least four months of actual satisfactory performance of service with contracts up to December 15, 2022.
