Parañaque City Mayor Eric L. Olivarez today urged his constituents, especially new voters, to register for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections that are scheduled on October 30 next year.
Olivarez made the call after he received the schedule of voters’ registration from the Office of the Election Officers from the city’s two congressional districts. The registration will start on Monday, December 12 and will run until January 31, 2023.
“I am calling on new and eligible voters to register early,” he said.
“Voting is an integral part of our democratic process, and we all have the responsibility to choose our leaders.”
According to the letter the mayor received from lawyers Nesrin Cali and Mario Vernar Esguerra, election officers for Parañaque City’s District I and District II, respectively, voter registration will be held even on Saturdays and holidays to accommodate more registrants.
The only exceptions will be December 24, 26 and 31 when there will be no registrations.
For District I, the registration venue from December 12 to 17 will be at SM City Sucat Building B, while for District II, the venue will be SM City Bicutan on the same week.
From December 19 to 30, the registration for District I voters will be held at the Office of the Election Officer at the Parañaque City Hall, to be followed by off-site or satellite registration in the different barangays in District I from January 2 to 14, 2023.
The last phase of registration for District I will be held at the Parañaque City Sports Complex in Barangay San Antonio from January 16 to 31.
For District II, the registration venue from December 19 to 23 will be SM City BF in Barangay BF Homes and will shift to the Office of the Election Officer at the Parañaque City Hall from December 27 to 30.
The next registration dates for District II voters will be conducted off-site in the different barangays from January 2 to 14 and finally at the Parañaque City Sports Complex from January 16 to 31.
