DOH granted the award in recognition of the efforts of the NCH to continuously improve the quality of its healthcare services, and observe best practices and innovations through evidence-based approach.

Winners were chosen through an evaluation of their programs, activities, initiatives, and innovations in the following criteria: safety and infection control, service provision, customer and employees satisfaction, community-based activities, quality improvements, and coping with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Navotas also gained recognition as the Top 3 in Nutritional Status and Best in Good Practices for its successful implementation of the 11th Cycle Supplementary Feeding Program of the DSWD.

Under the program, the Navotas City Social Welfare and Development Office provided supplementary food to children enrolled in child development centers (CDC) to help improve and sustain their nutritional status.

Moreover, 21 CDCs in Navotas, and their respective teachers and teacher aides, have earned accreditation from DSWD.

The city is one of the two local government units in the National Capital Region to gain 100 percent accreditation for Early Childhood Care and Development Center-Based Programs.

Meanwhile, the Navotas Bahay Pag-asa also gained accreditation from the same agency.

Bahay Pag-asa is the city’s facility providing short-term residential care for children in conflict with the law and are awaiting court disposition of their cases or transfer to other agencies or jurisdiction.

One resident of Bahay Pag-asa placed third in the spoken word poetry contest during the 11th Juvenile Justice and Welfare Consciousness Week Celebration.

“These awards and recognitions should inspire us more to always improve and upgrade the quality of our services,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
