PBBM, VP Sara best-performing gov’t officials — survey

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte emerged as the best performing government officials with a 70 percent and 68 percent approval rating, respectively, a recent survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD) showed.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri achieved a 64 percent approval rating while House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez acquired a 55 percent approval rating.

Rounding up the top 5 government officials is Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo with a 52 percent approval rating.

Among the mayors in the National Capital Region, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte ranked first with an approval rating of 90 percent, followed by Caloocan Mayor Along Malapitan with 78 percent and Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval with 74 percent.

Rounding up the top 5 were Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto with 72 percent and Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco with 70 percent.

RPMD executive director Paul Martinez said mayors outside of NCR must collaborate and replicate the best practices of the best performing local officials in Metro Manila.

Among the Cabinet members, the five top-performing officials are as follows: Interior Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. with 75 percent, Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo with 73 percent, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco with 71 percent, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista with 69 percent, and Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra with 67 percent.

The RPMD survey was conducted from November 3 to 10 with face-to-face interviews with Metro Manila residents.
