The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has flashed an alarm against a pricey red Ferrari car whose driver snubbed summons by the agency for questioning over an alleged traffic violation along E. de los Santos Ave. (EDSA).
LTO chief Teofilo Guadiz III signed a resolution by the Intelligence and Investigation Division that found the vehicle liable administratively for ignoring a traffic sign.
Apart from a fine, the affected driver’s license is suspended for 90 days.
The LTO’s Data Control Unit of the Law Enforcement Service was directed to tag an alarm on the records of the red Ferrari F8 Tributo (NEM 8999).
The alarm will stay until such time that the vehicle’s owner provides the identity of the driver at the time of the incident.
This also means that the vehicle owner will not be able to renew the registration of the vehicle until the driver shows up at the IID office to shed light on the alleged violation.
The Ferrari car reportedly entered an exclusive lane for EDSA Carousel buses. The intrusion was captured on video and was brought to the LTO’s attention for immediate action.
Guadiz stressed that the agency has exercised due process to provide the driver/owner enough time to appear before the IID to explain in writing about the incident.
No one appeared despite the issuance of several show cause orders.
On the other hand, the LTO has summoned the driver/owner of a van that hit and killed a motorcycle rider and injured a backrider yesterday along Taft Ave. in Manila.
A show cause order was issued by the IID), directing the driver/owner of the SUV, a Subaru Forester (AMC-528), to appear at the IID office located at the second floor of the Law Enforcement and Traffic Adjudication Service on Nov. 7, 2022 at 10 a.m.
