QC hall workers get P10k bonus

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has approved the release of the P10,000 bonus each for city hall employees, including non-regular ones, as gratitude for their contribution to the “sound financial management” recognition received by the city government for the second straight year.

She earlier approved Ordinance No. SP-3138 of 2022, granting the incentive to employees, including those holding contracts of service, job orders and consultancy contracts.

“This big help is important to our employees to help them meet their needs,” she said.

She issued a memorandum circular prescribing the guidelines for the implementation of Ordinance No. SP-3138, which was introduced by Councilors Dorothy Delarmente, Shaira Liban, Wencerom Benedict Lagumbay, and Eric Medina.

Under the circular, Belmonte instructed the City Budget Officer to release the necessary funds for the incentive.

All department heads have also been ordered to submit the names of the employees who are entitled to receive the P10,000 bonus.

The city councilors approved the measure after the city government earned “unqualified opinion” from the Commission on Audit for the years 2020 and 2021.

An unqualified opinion is the highest audit opinion that the Commission on Audit gives to a government agency.

“The grant of additional incentive to all Quezon City government employees is imperative and of utmost necessity in consideration of the various achievements of the city government despite the challenges,” the ordinance read.

“With the sound financial management of the city, it is high time that the gains of which they all contributed must be felt by them,” it cited.
