PLDT Enterprise backs PSU’s digitalization efforts

PLDT Enterprise reinforces its support to the Pangasinan State University for its continued efforts in enhancing their operations with digital technology, helping the institution achieve its vision to be an ASEAN Premier State University by 2025.

“The climate of education has changed dramatically over the last couple of years,” PSU President, Dr. Dexter R. Buted explained. “Teachers and students experience uncharted territory–transitioning from face-to-face to online to hybrid learning. But as a premier academic institution, we at PSU continue to grow, evolve, and expand education through technology, guided by our philosophy, and the United Nation’s declaration, that education is for all.”

Victor Y. Tria, PLDT Enterprise FVP for Enterprise Revenue Group, echoes this commitment, expressing that they will continue to provide PSU with top-notch services and solutions to help strengthen digital academic activities for both students and faculty. “We will remain to be PSU’s partner in strategically navigating its digitalization roadmap,” he said.

PLDT powered up PSU with the installation of iGate service and multiple Enterprise broadbands (FiberBiz) in nine different campuses. Likewise, PSU availed of the Giga Study Plans of Smart Bizload and Microsoft Office 365 A3 (Cloud service) from ePLDT in support of its blended learning modality.

With PLDT Enterprise’s Dedicated Internet Access service or iGate, which provides its clients with guaranteed bandwidth as well as reliable and managed internet connectivity, PSU grants its students and faculty access to relevant and study-related content online, while helping improve communication remarkably through email, messenger, and videoconferencing tools and platforms.

“Having high speed, reliable internet empowers students to take charge of their education, and for teachers to expand their classroom well beyond school walls,” shared Dennis G. Magbatoc, PLDT Enterprise AVP and Corporate Relationship Management Head. “It is this digital accessibility that we wish to replicate all over the country to further close the digital divide in schools.”

PLDT Enterprise previously helped set up PSU’s Learning Management System in response to the challenges and changes faced in the past academic years.

The group-wide push for supporting education underscores the commitment of the PLDT Group to help the Philippines attain the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), particularly SDG #4: Quality Education as a foundation in improving people’s lives and obtaining sustainable development.
