Actress Judy Ann Santos explained last week why she took a break from making cooking videos for her YouTube channel, “Judy Ann’s Kitchen.”
In an appearance on ABS-CBN’s Magandang Buhay, Santos clarified that the break is not due to her busy schedule but rather due to the increasing prices of goods, claiming that it would be unfair for those who cannot afford to buy ingredients for her recipes.
“Hindi naman sobrang busy. Ang hirap kasing mag-isip ng mga episodes especially kung ang pagtaas ng presyo ng bilihin ay napakalala. Ayokong hindi maka-relate ‘yung viewers sa kung anumang lutuin ang gagawin ko kasi parang napaka-unfair naman,” she said to her co-host Melai Cantiveros as she makes her signature tinapa rolls in the show.
“Gumagawa ako ng episode ng Judy Ann’s Kitchen ‘pag nabuo ko ‘yung sarili ko, ‘yung gusto ko siya, inspired ako kasi outlet ko ang Judy Ann’s Kitchen. Ayoko siyang tratuhing trabaho. ‘Pag trinato ko siyang trabaho, mawawala na ‘yung genuine authenticity,” she added.
Santos, whose Judy Ann’s Kitchen YouTube channel has 1.69 million subscribers and is considered one of the country’s most popular cooking vloggers, is currently a guest co-host of Magandang Buhay with Cantiveros and Jolina Magdangal.
On the other hand, as prices for food and fuel continue to rise, inflation in the country increased by 6.1 percent in June, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the highest since October 2018.
