Police in Makati City seized shabu worth P6.8 million in an anti-narcotics operation and rescued a minor involved in the drug dealing.

Two suspected drug dealers, tagged by the authorities as high value targets, were arrested in the buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Makati City Police – Drug Enforcement Unit late Wednesday night along Kalayaan Avenue in Barangay West Rembo.

City police commander P/Col. Harold Depositar identified the suspects as Moda Rinandang Mimbalawag, 60, and Aslanie Mimbalawag, 23, both residents of Imus Cavite.

Investigation showed that the suspects were using a 16-year old high school student in their illegal activity. The minor is now in the protective custody of the Makati City Police.

Seized from the suspects were one kilo of shabu, a Toyota Fortuner with registration plate DAH9149, two paper bags, a mobile phone, and the cash and boodle money used in the entrapment operation.

Southern Police District director P/Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said the suspects will be charged with violation of Sections 5, 13, and 26 Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Law) while the pieces of evidence seized were turned over to SPD forensic unit for chemical analysis.

He said both suspects are temporarily detained at the Custodial facility of Makati City police, while the rescued minor will be brought to the care of the Department of Social Welfare and Development for proper disposition.

“I congratulate the Makati Police on the arrest of these High Value Targets and the confiscation of more than ₱6 million worth of shabu. It is sad to think that a minor is already involved in illegal activity like this. However, we need to enforce the law. We will maintain our strict campaign against illegal drugs and conduct operations so that we can prevent the rampant sale of illegal drugs in our jurisdiction,” Macaraeg said.
