The BOC said “starting with 21 ISO-certified processes, Customs NAIA added six more processes to be ISO certified bringing the port’s total to 27 ISO certified processes which is the most among all BoC Ports.”

Those processes were focused on Clearance of Goods in other NAIA warehouses and express shipments; Processing of Special Permit to Load, and the Issuance of Access Pass to stakeholders entering the port.

The audit also revealed favorable findings toward Port of NAIA in terms of initiatives as its Performance Governance System Gold Trailblazer Award and the newly installed i-Declare online baggage declaration form systems were identified as programs with positive impact to the public.

Port of Manila district collector Carmelita Talusan recognized the importance of having the Port ISO certified, saying as gateway to international travelers, NAIA is considered as the bureau’s model port to the international community.

She added having ISO-certified processes would ensure international recognition of cargo clearance and releasing thus promoting ease of doing business in the port.

“The Port of NAIA continues to solidify its status as one of the nation’s premier ports which promote exemplary performance and elevate transparent public service,” Talusan said.
