Angeles City — Local entrepreneurs will receive full support from the city government to further introduce their products not just nationwide but worldwide.
This was announced by Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. on June 30, 2022 during his inaugural speech in Barangay Cutud. Lazatin said his administration will extend every possible support to export industries and enter into viable and strategic partnerships with cottage, small, and medium-scale enterprises.
Through the help of the Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (ACEDIPO), the city will participate in trade fairs locally and abroad to promote and establish possible markets.
In his first term as city mayor, the One Town, One Product (OTOP) program has been prioritized. Lazatin also said that the OTOP souvenir center of the city government will be revitalized.
Twenty-one local merchants are displaying products at the store, but Lazatin aims to expand it to also promote food products while extending technical support to small enterprises for them to be approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and likewise assist them in packaging and marketing.
In the time of the pandemic, local busine is one of the gravely-hit sectors, Lazatin says.
With the resources that the city has, it can exhaust means to assist them, knowing their talent and skills deserve a spotlight in the world, Lazatin bared.
