LJ and Ben’s first meeting isn’t smooth-sailing

Describing their experience as ‘watching a film on TV,’ netizens noted the “world-class” treatment of the mystery-romance miniseries, with most of them excited for the upcoming episodes where the story of LJ (Gabbi) and Ben (Khalil) further unravels.

In its pilot episode, viewers saw how LJ has dedicated her life to taking care of her mother Lorraine (Andrea del Rosario) who has an unexplained fear of shadows and aversion to strangers.

The first scene was set in Sta. Castela, where residents gather for a ritual. Locals believe that every full moon, the shadow creature called Lilom takes a human soul. To pacify the mysterious creature, a dance should be offered by women clad in long dresses and adorned with floral headdresses. A younger LJ and her mother joined the ritual.

But that night, Lorraine was believed to be taken away by Lilom.

Fast forward to the present. LJ and Lorraine have since moved to Manila, where LJ is now a film designer struggling to make ends meet. As LJ desperately seeks ways to help Lorraine get better, she serendipitously lands a major movie project that could bring her closer to understanding her mother: a film based on the Lilom folklore itself helmed by a charming young director named Ben.

What happens when LJ agrees to work with Ben for his film set in the same place where LJ “lost” her mother?

Love You Stranger also stars Gil Cuerva, Carmi Martin, Tonton Gutierrez, Lexi Gonzales, Kim De Leon, Maey Bautista, Angelli Sanoy, Alex Medina, Nor Domingo, Ces Quesada, Lui Manansala, Bodjie Pascua, Soliman Cruz, and Dindo Arroyo.

The show airs Monday to Thursday at 9:35 p.m. on GMA Telebabad. Kapuso abroad can catch it via GMA Pinoy TV.
