Whenever Filipinos need something, like a bar of soap, canned goods, or filling snacks, they know that the place to go is to their nearest sari-sari store. No barangay around the country is complete without a reliant sari-sari store to provide for their everyday needs.
Sari-sari stores also vary in their products. While some only have toiletries, snacks, and beverages, others offer cooked meals, condiments, sacks of rice, and freshly baked bread. Nonetheless, these stores serve as a source of livelihood for many Filipinos.
For years, Puregold has supported sari-sari stores around the country as their partner in keeping their establishments well-stocked. They established a customized holistic program, called Tindahan Ni Aling Puring, to allow sari-sari store owners and other business owners to increase the potential for their net earnings.
Yet as the world continues to and customers’ demands shift to a digital space, small to medium enterprises (SMEs), like sari-sari stores, feel the pressure to adapt to their market.
In response, Puregold developed a solution to this problem through its Aling Puring App that aims to transform its partner stores into one-stop shops. The move strengthens Puregold’s commitment to helping sari-sari stores and small business owners promote entrepreneurship in the country.
“Puregold is equipping Tindahan Ni Aling Puring members with an app that will allow them [to] take advantage of e-negosyo opportunities. Sari-sari store owners can now become the community’s hub for essentials and paying bills or telco load,” said Puregold president Vincent Co.
Cash-in options are also available through the Aling Puring App to help entrepreneurs further grow their businesses.
Antonio De Los Santos, Puregold’s Vice President of Operations, shared that the Aling Puring app, along with the brand’s other innovations, is a result of Puregold’s constant communication with their partners and program members.
He added that Puregold consistently listens to SME owners, so they know how to tailor their programs according to their needs.
Despite the pandemic, Puregold saw an increase in their Aling Puring program members since most of the public needed to find another source of income due to displacement or a reliable source of necessities, like food and toiletries.
Another feature of the Aling Puring App is its connection to the Puregold mobile app, where SME owners can easily access services to order and replenish their stocks.
Puregold launched the Aling Puring App during their Negosyo Convention 2022 held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City from May 19 to 21. The convention also celebrates its return after two years of absence due to the pandemic.
With over 600,000 members in the Philippines, Puregold’s Aling Puring program provides them with opportunities to earn points equivalent to rebates they can use to shop at any Puregold branch. Members also enjoy other services, like free delivery, business financing assistance, and even free insurance.
Other perks include access to Dealskarte and Ka-Asenso promo packs for more savings and points, exclusive events, and businesses, like loading and food-to-go under Puregold’s KAINdustriya program.
The Aling Puring app is available for download in the Google Playstore. For more information, visit Puregold on Facebook.
