Expect the vilification of the Marcoses to continue (Last of four parts)

“The people will triumph.”

Important notes on the Plaza Miranda bombing

No less than the late Senator Jovy Salonga questioned why Ninoy Aquino, who was then dubbed as “unrivaled star of the Liberal Party,” was absent from the event. According to reports, he was, at that time, at the Sky Room in the Jai alai Building along Taft Avenue in Manila, celebrating a friend’s birthday. His trip to Plaza Miranda was said to have been delayed as he was still waiting for Cocoy Laurel to finish his performance.

But according to Ka Jun, an ex-CPP cadre, Kumander Pusa, who was known to be close to Ninoy, personally warned the late senator to take his time in going to Plaza Miranda. Ka Jun adds that another former Leftist leader, Fluellen Ortigas, now based in the US and one of those who were with Ninoy at that time, bared they were puzzled then as to why it appeared Ninoy seemed unprepared to attend the ongoing LP Grand Rally in Plaza Miranda.

Former newsman and senior CPP cadre Ricardo “Dick” Malay, brother-in-law of Satur Ocampo, also pointed to Sison as the brain behind the PMB. Malay headed the “advance party” ng CPP delegation, and was primarily responsible for the planning of the M/V Karagatan arms smuggling.

Not surprisingly, Sison, who has been residing in Amsterdam since 1988, has constantly denied the CPP’s involvement in the PMB, even declaring that when the bombing took place, ‘the Liberal Party at the time was our ally of sorts.”

Bound to fail

And now, as BBM’s ascension to power is at hand, we would expect an intensified vilification drive against him and his family. That same faction of the Oligarch, now represented by the Pinklawans, have already joined forces with the Left to challenge and oppose the surging BBM campaign but to no avail.

As I have been saying then, weeks leading to the elections, they adjusted their campaign strategy suggesting some post-election scenario, hinting at possibly another EDSA Uprising. They are now accusing BBM of plotting massive cheating, which is grossly absurd as there is absolutely no reason why he would cheat when all credible polling firms has him leading by a mile in their pre-election surveys (BBM will eventually win by more than 16 million votes over Leni Robredo, garnering more than 56 percent of the votes, the first majority elected president since his father).

Sensing the Filipinos are no longer interested in how they project the present political scenery, they are now resorting to the international community, hoping the same community which pushed Ukraine to war with Russia, will back them up.

As of this early, they have openly declared defiance for a Marcos presidency, saying they would never ever recognize his administration. Schools known to still host the dwindling number of student activists have vowed to boycott classes until BBM is disposed of, hoping to ignite a scenario reminiscent of the First Quarter Storm of 1970.

But then, I believe the Filipinos will not let anything of what they are sinisterly planning this time to succeed. We have learned our lessons – that the vilification of Marcos leading to his ouster was nothing but a grand design concocted by Ninoy Aquino brought about by his political ambition, and ably aided by the gullible Jose Maria Sison, who himself, has been planning on betraying his Oligarch partners once they seize.

Sison failed then as the Oligarch-led Yellows junked them after having ascended to power. But as a consolation for him, both of them will fail now. Despite their renewed collaboration, they are bound to tail. The people will triumph.
