Lorna Tolentino’s new venture

In a recent radio interview, Lorna Tolentino admitted that she fell in love with Ilocos Sur, the venue of their lock-in taping for Ang Probinsyano, and the reason why she decided to buy a property there.

The multi-awarded actress revealed that she bought the property to be an additional source of income.

“It’s just a small piece of land, not really that huge since I don’t really have plans of living there,” she started.

“Yes, I entered it in a time-sharing scheme where we are holding the taping. It’s like you can have your unit rented out by the resort. So, it’s really small,” she went on.

LT stated that she knows a few celebrities who have also entered into that kind of business in Ilocos including Coco Martin. She also cited artist Ben Cabrera and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.

“They have their units rented out in the resort. Even Coco has bought a property, I just don’t know its size,” she said.

Lorna is studying the Ilocano dialect at present and has built friendships with prominent people in the Northern province. In fact, she was tapped to endorse a partylist based in Ilocos but insisted that she has no plans of entering politics.

“It’s not for me. I’m not cut out for it. You will feel it in the first place. As for me, showbiz is really my career,” she affirmed.

Speaking of Ang Probinsyano, the veteran acting stalwart said that they will be back in their lock-in taping after the elections. She just doesn’t know if that will be the last cycle and if they will be eventually replaced by Darna

“Well, the number of characters in the story is gradually diminishing. This is why we got closer to each other. Imagine, we just live in one hotel or resort. When we don’t have tapings, we bond together. We go to one villa,” she stated.

“We do this to unwind. To relieve ourselves of the stress brought about by being there for a long period of time already. We need to unwind even just for a day to balance things,” ended LT.

After the movie 366, which served as her directorial debut, Bela Padilla reveals that she’ll soon work on a follow-up project. She’s been tapped by Viva to develop her next film.

“It’s the same process: I will be the one to write the script, direct, and star in it. Triple threat. The project will be something different. It won’t be a love story but family-centered. I hope I’ll be able to finish writing the script soon. Currently, I’m still in the writing stage.”

After realizing that she can multitask, it seems that she enjoys wearing different hats in her projects.

“Of course, I also wish to work solely on directing in the future without being involved acting-wise. I think acting is still my favorite but writing and directing also give me a different high,” she confessed.

Having directed Zanjoe Marudo and JC Santos in 366, Bela now lists Kim Chiu as the next star that she would want to work on a film project.
