Robredo said the youth who have access to information can correct the falsehood being propagated on social media by her opponents who twist her statements and put her in a bad light.

“The problem on social media is that they are twisting what we are saying to make it appear we have no good program for them,” Robredo told a political rally in Naval, Biliran.

For his part, Trillanes  noted that millennials are fighting back and are engaging the “well-paid trolls of the other camp.”

He said there is a push back from young people- community-based volunteers. He said there are many independent initiatives to fact-check. He said people within the education sector – both teachers and students – are fighting lies with truth.

He said it’s not surprising that all big schools are endorsing Robredo. In all surveys in campuses, team Leni-Kiko prevails.

Robredo also said young people should fight fake news for the truth to prevail. “Majority of you young people are digital natives. You know what are lies and truth. so you must fight always fight for the truth to prevail.”

The vice president cited a statement on the maritime industry that was mangled to convey the opposite of what she said. “That’s a grave lie,” she said.

Improvements in the maritime industry and the lives of seafarers will be among Robredo’s focus if she wins the presidency.

The Vice President also junked “fake news” that she was discrediting

the country’s seafarers.

Apparently, some netizens edited a video of Robredo during a presidential debate to make it seem like she was belittling the skills of seamen.

She said the youth who have access to information can correct the falsehood being propagated on social media by her opponents who allegedly twisted her statements and put her in a bad light.
