Screen star Carlo Aquino’s romantic life is an open book that’s why at the press screening of How to Move On in 30 Days, a series made possible by a partnership between ABS-CBN and YouTube, he was asked if he had to go through a long process of moving on from his failed relationship with model Trina Candaza with whom he has a daughter.
In January, reports circulated that Carlo and Trina called it quits following the latter’s cryptic post referring to knowing one’s worth after being separated from a partner. Then, Trina’s moving to a new home further prompted speculation that the two had already separated.
The two then have stopped posting photos of each other on social media and neither of them went publicly to address the real score.
“Moving on has no timeline, It’s a process. In time, mawawala siguro. Mawawala na lang siya eventually. Minsan nga, hindi mo alam, naka move on ka na pala,” was Carlo’s careful response.
“Right now, I’m just taking care of the present para yung mga mali nuon hindi na magcatch up in the future. Yes, nalulungkot ako pero kelangan ko bang i-video or ilagay sa IG stories na malungkot ako?…Do I still love her? Love will not just easily go away,” he said making showbiz reporters just read between the lines.
Noting that the series he stars in opposite Maris Racal is also about heartbreak and moving on, Carlo admitted that he can definitely relate to the character he portrays in the story.
The series revolves around the story of Jen (Maris), a vlogger in her 20s who suddenly gets dumped by her long-time boyfriend Jake (Albie Casiño). Jen’s heart breaks when she finds out that Jake cheated on her with Anastacia (Sachzna Laparan), a model and social media influencer.
Jen struggles to cope with the break-up, gets drunk, and instantly goes viral on social media for causing a scene about her miserable situation and becomes known as “The Winarak Girl.” To help Jen move on, her best friends Anton (Kyo Quijano) and Sara (Jai Agpangan) convince her to download the ‘break app’ – a navigation app that will give her a step-by-step guide and useful tips that will help her move on within 30 days.
Things will get complicated in Jen’s life when she is assigned as Jake’s handler and is tasked to accompany him out of town for his work projects. As she chronicles her exciting journey on her vlog, Jen bumps into a charming surfer named Franco (Carlo), who is also a professional boyfriend-for-hire. Jen will face a tough dilemma and will be forced to hire Franco as her fictitious boyfriend as she intends to fully heal from heartbreak.
Directed by Benedict Mique and Roderick Lindayag, the series also stars John Lapus, John Arcilla, Sherry Lara, Phoemela Baranda, Poppert Bernadas, Hanie Jarrar, Elyson De Dios, Rans Rifol, and James Bello.
This co-production with YouTube is the latest initiative of ABS-CBN to expand its digital content offerings and reach younger audiences while continuing to serve more Filipinos on various platforms.
How to Move On in 30 Days premieres today and is available on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel.
