In Davao City, a local official proposed a resolution to declare vice presidential candidate Professor Walden Bello “persona non grata” after he reportedly claimed that the city is “the center of the drug trade in the southern Philippines.”

Bello, for his part, claims the camp of Mayor Duterte is “trying to silence him by threatening his life for exposing major issues in the city.”

In Cavite, Gov. Jonvic Remulla said he and Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., said they have joined forces to assure that Duterte will be the next vice president.

Remulla, introduced Duterte during a mini rally at the Brgy. San Juan Covered Court organized by Coun. Kiko Barzaga, son of Dasmariñas City Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr. and Dasmariñas City Mayor Jenny Barzaga.

According to data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for the May polls, Dasmariñas City has 400,074 out of Cavite’s 2.3 million registered voters.

Duterte expressed gratitude to all local officials who organized Tuesday’s events and thanked the people for taking the time to listen to UniTeam’s message of hope, unity, and patriotism.

Remulla said Cavite is solid behind the candidacies of Marcos and Duterte under the UniTeam Alliance.

For his part, Revilla said the BBM-Sara tandem is “assured of a big win in Cavite.”

Speaking for the family, former Rep. Gilbert Remulla said most political personalities in the province are supporting the UniTeam ticket.

In Davao City meanwhile, a proposed resolution signed by City Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang said that Bello’s “malicious tirades” discredit the efforts of the city government.

Bello is involved in another case in Davao. He is reportedly facing cyber libel complaints filed against him by former Davao City chief information officer Jefry Tupas, over Bello’s claim that Tupas attended a beach party in Davao de Oro in November 2021 that was raided by the PDEA.
