Mayor Imelda Aguilar on Thursday led the launching of a month-long “Bayanihan sa Bakunahan sa Las Piñas,” a program aimed to fully protect the city’s entire population against coronavirus disease.
“This program aims to bring closer to the residents the city’s health services particularly the inoculation of COVID-19 jabs to individuals who remain unvaccinated and to those who are set to receive their booster shots,” Aguilar said.
The city chief executive said 21 vaccination teams, with each team composed of four to five members led by City Health Office (CHO) chief Juliana Gonzales will be dispatched in the different barangays for the massive inoculation of her constituents.
Aguilar said the vaccination teams deployed in the different barangays will also be distributing paracetamol and Vitamin C to those individuals who will receive their COVID-19 jabs.
She added 20 fixed posts will be set up in every barangay in the city in order for the residents to have an easy visit for their inoculation and the administering of booster shots.
Aside from the setting up of 20 fixed posts in the different barangays, Mayor Aguilar said there will be also a team who will conduct house-to-house vaccination that will render their services to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The mayor also advised residents with comorbidities to visit the vaccination sites identified by the city government for proper monitoring of the patients.
Aguilar added that the program will be conducted for the whole month of March.
Meanwhile, Vice-Mayor April Aguilar said the city government wanted to ensure city residents on the importance of getting the COVID-19 jabs and booster shots through the “Bayanihan sa Bakunahan sa Las Pinas” program that will give them protection against the virus.
The vice-mayor said placing the National Capital Region (NCR) under Alert Level 1 also meant that all activities will be at 100 percent operational with health protection through vaccination against the virus must be administered to the city residents.
