There’s one thing about sunscreens that people usually get wrong—skipping it when spending time indoors. Using sunscreen when going out makes perfect sense, but applying it when working from home or lounging around the house? It simply doesn’t click.
Here’s something to keep in mind: the sun’s skin-damaging UV rays can also penetrate dark clouds and glass windows. Working or sitting by a window at home already exposes the skin to UVA and UVB that can lead to premature aging, sunburn, and skin cancer. This isn’t the only threat we should be concerned about. The blue light from our laptop, phone, and TV can cause skin pigmentation and break down collagen.
While we can’t really avoid the sun or stop using our gadgets, we can give our skin a protective barrier and prevent damage by religiously wearing the right sunscreen every single day.
